SV-POW! … All sauropod vertebrae, except when we're talking about Open Access
Just a quick heads up for any SV-POW! readers within convenient striking distance of Norman, Oklahoma, this Wednesday, March 16. Like all of the lectures in the “Dinosaurs Past & Present” series at OMNH, this one is free to the public. I hope to see some of you there!

That’s an apatosaur sacrum at the OMNH? How come I didn’t see it in 2007?
In other news … I really wish you’d had the courage to leave your talk’s title at just the three words, omitting the subtitle.

Aww, I’m only 3 hours away, but I don’t think I can make it!

“Dinosaurs vs whales” can be interpreted so many ways! Do gulls peck at the backs of whales when they surface, causing injuries? Do some small odontocetes predate sea birds?
(Wish I could go, but I can’t.)

Ha, no, the photo is from BYU. The OMNH outreach folks asked for pictures of me and I sent them the standard bundle without thinking. Mea culpa.

I had a memory of having posted that very photo on SV-POW! before and I was right: it’s in this post.

“Less than a month now!” — surely you mean more than a month?

Whoops, that’s what I get for doing stuff online when I’m zonked. Fixed it.

Enjoyed the talk Matt, having read the papers (even though I am on Eocene paleontologist ;) ), You do a great job of outreach with the public, some of Rich’s storytelling must have rubbed off!
